The
Senior Crowd loves Tahoe. And why not? Great entertainment,
cultural events, excellent dining, scenic paddlewheel
boat cruises, low impact hiking, bike rentals and
trails, and clean fresh air all add to the mix of
what makes beautiful Lake Tahoe a special place.
In summer and early fall, a popular favorite
is a dinner-dance cruise to Emerald Bay and Vikingsholm
Castle aboard one of the two paddlewheel boats.
Both offer good food, live music, spectacular
views and a narration on the history of Tahoe.
Lake Tahoe is what you make of it. And here
you can enjoy a slower pace any time of the year.
But the spring and fall are special times for
special reasons, one of them being good deals
on accommodations.
In October and early November, we're usually
lucky enough to have a pleasant Indian Summer.
The crowds are gone, the ski areas have yet to
open, and the autumn colors are in full bloom.
From a local's point of view, it's a perfect
time of year.
By May, Tahoe has shed its winter coat and everything
is turning green. There's a freshness in the
air and the birds of the Sierras are there to
let you know it. Spring is a great time at Lake
Tahoe.
We're just a three and a half hour scenic drive
from San Francisco. So if you're planning on
visiting that fair city soon, why not indulge
in a side trip to Lake Tahoe. You'll be glad
you did. |
